Dr. Giovannina Anthony specializes in gynecology, obstetrics, and women’s health. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Anthony attended the University of Southern California, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering. She stayed in L.A. to earn her M.D. degree also at USC, which is home to one of the busiest obstetric units in the country. The intensity of that unit affirmed a desire to devote her career to women’s health.
After graduating with honors, she moved to Boston to do internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital combined program, both Harvard University teaching hospitals. An avid traveler, she went on to spend 3 years traveling through South America, India, and Southeast Asia. This was a fantastic opportunity to observe medical practice in developing countries and shaped Dr. Anthony’s personal and professional goals, many of which are being realized practicing medicine in rural Wyoming. She then moved on to an attending physician role in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, where she taught Ob/Gyn residents and medical students while also conducting a busy private practice.
After attending a wedding in Jackson Hole, meeting her future husband, and doing a bit of climbing and skiing, she realized she was a mountain gal at heart. Dr. Anthony came to Women’s Health and Family Care in 2005 and has been part of the team ever since. She and her husband, Christian, welcomed their daughter Soleil into their lives in 2010, and consider themselves privileged to call the spectacular Tetons home. When not in the office seeing patients or in the operating or delivery room, she continues to enjoy climbing, skiing, biking, and watching little Soleil learn to love the mountains.
Dr. Anthony’s practice includes the full spectrum of gynecologic and obstetric care, with special interest in hysteroscopy, family planning, contraception, vulvovaginal disease, complicated pregnancy, menopausal medicine, and abnormal uterine bleeding.
Dr. Anthony provides patient care in Jackson, Wyoming.
